the island
Old town of Korčula was founded on a peninsula in the northeastern part of the island Korčula. It is considered the most beautiful medieval town in Croatia and one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean. Medieval walls and towers surround it and they give it a special charm. The streets are arranged in the shape of fish bones in order to reduce the impact of cold winter winds.

The years of venetian rule show strongly in the food, which has a distinctly Italian influence, however Dalmatian cuisine has its own distinct flavours and ingredients. The jewel in the crown of Korčula’s foodie scene, Lešić Dimitris Michelin-star menu is only one of amazing places to taste fresh, local produced and home-grown ingredients.

We can proudly recommend konoba Mate, restaurant Filippi, konoba Maslina and konoba Maha, please let us know if you need a help for reservation or further suggestions. The small towns of Čara and Smokvica at Korčulas countryside are surrounded by vineyards and famous worldwide for their Pošip – one of the best white wines in Croatia. Several wine festivals offer the ideal opportunity to taste and learn all about the history of viticulture on Korčula. In walking distance from Lumbarda House you can visit vineries who produce rare and naitive grape grk. It has been growing in the sandy vineyards of the village of Lumbarda on the Island of Korčula for over two thousand years.

The real beauty of Korčula lies mainly its untouched nature, as with its lush vegetation, incredibly beautiful beaches and the crystal clear sea. Many family-friendly beaches are spread all over the island. The sandy beaches „Vela przina“ in Lumbarda and the somewhat more hidden beach „Istruga“ near Brna will make children‘s eyes shine. „Pupnatska luka“ with its fine pebble beach is surrounded by high rocks and offers a phenomenal view from above.
